Around 9 p.m., Saturday, July 24, Maysville officers were involved in a short vehicle pursuit that ended with a convicted felon being arrested with a firearm. Officers Jolley and Hunter took Jackie Ray Sullivan of Oklahoma City into custody without further incident. He was booked into the Garvin County Detention Center on possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, eluding an officer, and driving under suspension.

Early Sunday morning, July 25, Maysville’s Police Chief Paul Bush was involved in a pursuit with a motorcycle that ended in McClain County. Names have not been released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. Garvin County and McClain County Deputies assisted in the arrest.

Also on Sunday, Sgt. Fields of the Maysville Police Dept. made a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired tag at about 5:30 p.m. After making contact with the driver, Fields returned to her patrol car. After a few minutes, the driver sped away traveling south on State Highway 74. Speeds reached over 100 mph before Elmore City K9 Officer Justin Hutchings deployed stop sticks about a mile from Elmore City. The driver’s tires were flattened and the pursuit came to an end.

The driver, Suzanne Morrison of Norman, Oklahoma, was arrested on several complaints including driving while suspended, eluding a police officer, DUI and also carrying a loaded firearm in the commission of a felony. Morrison was transported to the Garvin County Detention Center.
