Elgin High School marching band was named Grand Champion of this year’s 13th Annual Pauls Valley Marching Band Champtionships, receiving recognition as the top band overall based on combined parade and field scores.

The Sweepstakes Band award for the band with the highest combined field and parade scores in each class went to Konawa in Class 2A; Tishomingo in Class 3A; Madill in Class 4A; and Elgin in Class 5A-6A.

Elgin High School was recognized for the Outstanding Field Drumline of the Day, the Outstanding Field Drum Major of the Day and the Outstanding Field Auxiliary of the Day.

Overall Outstanding Parade Auxiliary went to Elgin; Overall Outstanding Parade Drum Major was awarded to Konawa; and the Overall Outstanding Parade Percussion went to Kingston.

In parade competition, the results were: Class 2A - First Place, Konawa; Second Place, Maysville; Third Place, Central Marlow Class 3A - First Place, Tishomingo; Second Place, Lone Grove; Third Place, Kingston; Fourth Place, Elmore City - Pernell Class 4A - First Place, McLoud; Second Place, Madill; Third Place, Dickson Class 5A - First Place, Elgin Outstanding Drum Line Class 2A, Konawa; Class 3A, Kingston; Class 4A, Madill; Class 5A, Elgin Outstanding Drum Major - Class 2A, Konawa; Class 3A, Elmore City - Pernell; Class 4A, Madill; Class 5A, Elgin Outstanding Auxillary Class 2A Konawa; Class 3A, Davis; Class 4A, Madill; 5A Elgin The field competition results were: Class 2A - First Place, Konawa; Second Place, Maysville; Third Place, Central Marlow
